How we research, write, and update our guides.
Last updated 2026-06-30 · Maintained by Jey Carrington, Founder
Ashé Legacy Builders is an educational platform. The accuracy and clarity of our guides is the product. This page documents how we produce that work and how we keep it honest.
Key takeaways
- Every guide is authored or reviewed by the founder, Jey Carrington.
- Primary sources only: IRS, SBA, SAM.gov, Grants.gov, state agencies.
- Each article carries a publish date and a last-updated date.
- Corrections are made in-place; significant changes update the timestamp.
- We do not file paperwork, sell grants, or guarantee funding.
Sourcing and research
Guidance on entities, EINs, business credit, and grants is drawn from official government and lender sources — IRS, SBA, SAM.gov, Grants.gov, state Secretary of State offices, and published lender underwriting guidelines. Third-party platforms are cited only when the official source defers to them.
When a topic depends on a state, county, or program-specific rule, we say so and link the reader to the authoritative source rather than paraphrasing it.
Update cadence
Time-sensitive guides (grants, tax filings, formation fees) are reviewed at least quarterly. Evergreen explainers are reviewed annually or whenever the underlying rule changes. Material edits bump the Updated date shown on the article header.
Corrections policy
Mistakes happen. If you find one, email info@ashelegacybuilders.com. We correct verified errors in-place, note the correction at the bottom of the article when it changes meaning, and update the article's dateModified in our structured data.
Independence and disclosures
We are not a law firm, accounting firm, or filing service. Our guides are educational only and do not constitute legal, tax, or financial advice. We do not accept payment from grant programs, government agencies, or lenders to feature them.
Some pages link to paid Ashé products (the $47 Starter Guide and $127 Grant Bible) or to ASHE Grants consulting. These are first-party offerings, not third-party affiliate placements.
Use of AI tools
We use AI tools to assist with drafting, formatting, and proofing. A human author reviews every published guide for accuracy and voice before it goes live. AI is never used as the final authority on a regulatory or program-specific claim.
